could be good!
gonna be more than 300 bhp they claim!?

If many more rhumours of that come out, it will kill sales of the 2.5 Focus RS, surely?

Only if they were to give it 4wd. But it seems they are gonna carry over the Revoknuckle.

is this so that they can use them in touring car?

also the thing that amuses me slightly is the fact that, the 2.5 is labelled as thirsty, surely to give a 2lite the same amount of power, will it not need roughly the same amount of fuel?

the 2.5 engine is a great engine but just drinks to much fuel and with the new 2 L it will be much lower and meet the new regs as well

i cant see it mate.. if they are bringing a new version out, noone is gonna want to buy the old one (from the dealers brand new) regardless of it having 4x4 or not. As its about to be outdated?

you aint gonna want to come away from the dealer sayin

'yeah just got a brand new Focus RS .. but its the old version now '

it's still going to be shit, because it's still a focus. Dump the lump in a fez or mondeo. i'd rather see a galaxy or fusion get a decent engine than a poxy fucking focus.

Rant over.

depends which engine is more tuneable, take the Escos for example, small turbo vs large turbo

Mr. Clare I assume with your insider knowledge you know this engine plan to be a sure thing?

Or is it Autoexpresses hype to bump Xmas sales?

Most probably due to emissions and how things are going with low capacity big boost economic engines.

good news imo if its true which i wouldn't be that suprised of- one problem with teh ST/RS is they guzzle a bit compared to other hot hatches even when driven 'normally'
lot on the net about these new ecoboost engines, sound like a step forward and it at least gets us away from having a top line ford and people with volvo estates saying-
'oh yeah i've got that engine in my volvo'

Have my doubts, but the more options available the better!Says it won't be till 2012 though, so lots of time for the "rumours" to come to nothing.
