Reset factory settings on laptop ????

Default Reset factory settings on laptop ????

Laptops doing my nut in, going to save everything to the external hard drive and try to reset it back to original settings and do a spy ware check virus check. But how do i reset the computer?

Easiest thing to do if you have a Windows disc is to jam it in and then reboot the computer.

It'll give you numerous options just follow them through.

Does your laptop have a recovery partition? If it does its just a case of booting up laptop and holding down a F number key and following the on screen instructions from there.

I'm not all that clued up about laptops mate, so dont really know what you mean. I have a vague idea about what you mean but ........

how new is the laptop? what make? i know for the last 2 sony's i had and now my hp you can just go to START > ALL PROGRAMS > RECOVERY MANAGER > THEN RECOVERY MANAGER AGAIN, you can do it that way if its vista.
Its straight forward enough from there.

if its an Acer hit Ctrl and F10 on boot up did it the other day for my sister is like new now outta the box

save all ya stuff first

its about a year old, toshiba equim? running vista, mine doesnt have the recovery manager your talking about...
