From the "How to become a millionaire" thread its made me think. Someone came up with a very good idea, which could take off and make us quite a bit of money.

Our problems are:

How can we make a proto-type as we don't know where to buy parts from or exactly what parts we would need?

How can we get a patent?

Who do I go to with this invention to get it built or registered?

Any help would be appreciated as I wanna get it going and hopefully make some profit... Don't wanna tell anyone the idea till we're covered with a patent.

I was thinking that mate What I wanna know is, is there a specific place you can go to get help with this stuff? That can give you info on companies that can/will help with development of a product.

i know a place that does prototypes with car panneling, infact they did the prototype wings for the new shaped beetle.

You go on Dragon's Den with a business venture or product with a proto-type or ATLEAST a patent or your leaving yourself wide open for someone to steal your idea. Then ask for money to invest, which Im not where near yet

I used to go school with the guy who owns the company but don't know how he got the job,but how I got the info was he openly advertises the fact on his company website.

there used to be a compnay that did the patenting for yo that advertised on the discovery channel

but they wanted roughly 50% of the earnings as part of the deal, can't rememberwhat i was going to patent all them years ago, but it was along the liens of them 2 wheels steering bikes front suspension idea's, you turn the wheel one way and the bike leans into the corner types, but they wanted drawings, costings, proof that we'd thought of the idae and all sorts

and don't forget that there is individual country patents and world wide patents too, so someone else might have already thought of it somewhere else

not too sure if there is a time limit on them though and if they run out after a certain amount of years or not

this should give you a good idea of what sort of minefield it can turn into for the unprepared
