Quite an achievement on the engine front but what a completely pointless car. If any of these 1000bhp road cars were used to their potential there'd be bits of gearbox all over the floor before you could get to the end of the road. do people have them built just for bragging rights?

Got a question tho.

How come an Evo Engine can get 1000bhp yet a Yb seems to have trouble getting to 900bhp?

Does the YB compression differ from the Evo Engine much? Stroke? Bore size etc? Or does the fuel side come into it at this HP

You've not seen this Escort powered by a YB then?

Right to stop the speculation..........

Its supercharged and turbo'd...........Works much better than expected and we're still not finished setting it up. We will be doing my Green Evo next and then a bolt on kit for all Evo's!

This thing will react like a 6 litre V8 low down and like a 1000Hp Evo through the mid range and top end.....what a combo! The other great thing (yet to be tested) is I expect to be able to launch the car at very low rpm without bogging making it less likely to break.

The boost generation is instant, the second the throttle is cracked you have 1 bar boost from the supercharger as low as 2000Rpm!...........literally instant!

Watch this space guys!

Cheers

Si

no body is developing the yb that far any more, and anyone willing to spend decent money on a car have something else instead. The fact that a yb with nearly 1120 wheel bhp exists proves that the yb can make the power and doesn't struggle to make 900.

I know tht the 1120bhp proves it can make the power, was just a question of why so many Evo's were 600-700plus compared to the YB. The questions been answered now

Well he couldn't run anywhere near full power and must of feared it was going to break every time he took it out.

He wouldn't even go an a RR with it!

Certainly the vibe I picked up from his posts.

At the end of the day this IS why building half of these cars is pointless, the overall packages are not upto the job and so the cars are merely used for not much more than willy waving competitions.

Don't get me wrong 600hp in YUM must of been ballistic BUT it still broke a gearbox and it may of done another even at that power, quite pointless IMO to only have a dyno printout but not re write the record book as it was made out it would do.

I'm using YUM as an example but there are MANY other cars out there like that, the key is having a good overall package and lets face it very few can afford that. Atleast with that they realised the hassle, took a step back and thought fuck it it needs to go as where does it stop !

It has taken me that long to realise it with my own car, several engine changes later I realised I needed a car that when I open it up isn't likely to break somewhere costing me a few grand or even worse 10k plus to repair, you have to live within your means and half of these cars do push people beyond on that but they choose not to look at it that way.

Very true Jonny!

Hence why I didn't bother with a huge power LET, just gone for an XE track car I can rag, fix then rag again!

I'm leaving the chasing figures to the willy wavers!
