well i had a bad spell the other week, car got fully keyed up, fooked up the car while repairing something and it took me 5 days to sort it, then to top it off i dropped my iphone, screen smashed to pieces but it still fully worked


now yesterday the home button stopped working



i have watched videos on youtube about stripping and repairing the screen etc so i was quite happy to have a crack at that but cant find out too much about the button




quite gutted as its a real pain to use with no home button

I smashed mine the other day after I took it out my pocket as I was about to get in my car, me fucked left knee gave way and I fell over and ended up smashing the phone against the floor when I fell!!!

Lucky I had insurance so I just claimed on that and had a brand spanking new one within a few days which was a touch as mine was scratched to hell!!

Have you tried resetting it? Hold the 2 buttons down (home button and the one on the top) together for about 10-15 seconds and that'll reset it.

Have you got home insurance? Some policies allow you to claim for items damaged in the home.

Failing that if your with Barclays bank sign-up for a premium account, you get an interest free overdraft, break down cover, phone and gadget insurance for about Ł6-Ł10 a month. Leave it for a month or so and then claim for a new one.

I think HSBC have a similar thing.

i have got home insurance yes but i expect the excess is 100 or 150 so not really worth it.
