Default Basic ingredients for a 330bhp YB?

What do you need for a reliable safe 330bhp on a yb?

Cheers

I'd prefer to run a standard clutch on 330 horse as its a lot nicer to drive. They may not last as long but lot nicer. Your engine won't require any internal mods as the YB is a de tuned engine any way.

I would like to build an engine for my 3 door someday, aprox 330-350 bhp. So a shoppinglist would be nice

So far on my list:

- 200 block (want to do the rebuild myself)
- greens
- 3 bar map sensor
- mongoose exhaust
- good chip (wich one?)
- rebuild T3
- -31 actuator

Are updated fuel / oilpump needed? and a breather kit?

Any comment is welcome

Roy, T34.48 would suit better mate if going for 350, it,d be REALLY punchy too, re-wire your fuel pump that,ll do the job, Head Gasket and again i,d go for a clutch if looking for 350...

Or just go for the NMS Gunship, i can highly recommend it

I didn't think cossies needed so much work to get that sort of power?
so i take it all those mags featured cossies that only had a chip were no way close to 300bhp then?

T3 will do around 300-320, Twellsies made 326bhp/ 356lb/ft on Martins Roller with the gunship..

But generally folks change to a T34 for going 330+, again different housings, injectors to suit your level of tune.

you could make it do 330hp with:

greens
3 map bar
t3
standard intercooler
chip
gob load of boost

but how long is it going to last?; t3 will be screaming, the engine wont breath properly, ACT will be high, the head gasket will shit itself, the clutch might slip, shit chip which over fuels or runs lean....etc

so if your going to do it, do it properly or it will all end in tears. This is why cossie's got a reputation it didnt deserve. Bill & Ben the flower pot men doing what i've just typed on a sunday afternoon in their shed.

The guy did ask for reliable and safe so over speccing it and not running componants at thier max is wise.

Tbh id rather just start with a T3 or bigger.

To have the gunship done, its says on the nms website that the engine has to of been rebuilt?

330BHP would be better on a larger turbo such as T34, not sure about rebuilding of engine, just as long as the engine is healthy. Gunship stresses components massivly, the standard injectors for example will be over 90% duty hence why engine/components need to be healthy.

It might help if you told us what Cossie you're referring to as the mods required will be different depending on what your starting point is.

Every compressor map I've seen of a T34 .48 should make 330 all day long.

fair play i doubt greens would be able to supply enough fuel at 28psi,they seem to start to throw a wobbly at 23psi lol!
