Default transit differences

whats the differences between the transits about a 55 reg ive seen 260 and 280 what does that mean.im looking at buying a swb but need the lightest version as i neeed to tow 1.5 ton and dont want to get a tacho fitted

its the combined weight of van and cargo i.e 260 = 2.6ton, you will need a t300 or t350 i think mate and both are better as they are rwd not fwd like the t260 t280 models

also a tacho is standerd on the t450 models

The payload on a 260 is surprisingly poor, especially if driver and mate have been at the pies. We had one go overweight with 2 joiners, their toolboxes, and two boxes of nails.

i have a 260,very poor towing van to be honest and fwd ,other than that a reliable old horse

Out of interest, anyone know whether you'd be allowed to tow a track car and trailer with a transit connect swb? I've seen people do it with the smaller vans but wonder about the legalities?

Mmm, not sure tbh, I was right on the limit towing my sierra with my 350 transit so can't see how a connect would be ok? but I'm sure someone on here will know for sure
