Default turbo damper

willa turbo damper fit on a 4x4 manifold ? i know the real need for one is to take the wight of the turbo on the 2wd manifold but i wondered if they fit the 4x4 as well ?

dont need them on a 4x4 mate the damper on a 2wd is for taking out the vibration i think!

But as for your question i dont think they do as the turbo sits closer on a 4x4 i think

i understand there not needed but just thought any thing that help support the turbo should help the manifold and head in the long run , just wondered as i'm looking to go for a t38 turbo and thought it may help with the weigt

Don't need a damper for a 4x4 manifold as the turbo sits on top of the manifold

the 2wd manifold has the swan neck so a big heavy turbo will put pressure on the exhaust manifold studs hence the need for a damper

The 2wd damper was added at Southampton Uni, when they did the NVH tests, not because of the weight.
Cracked manifolds can be repaired perfectly without welding, as can any cast, by any amateur using HTS528, it's what NASA and BOEING use after all.

i fully understand why they were fitted to the 2wd manifold just wondered if they could be fitted to the 4x4 manifold one because i like the look of them and also just thought it may help if just a little bit but mainly because i like the look

if you are just doing it for looks then how about something along the lines of :

bit of a bracket off the cam cover bolts and you're done
