Default hoses??

my new i/c has standard pipes ,the turbo looks like around 50mm. on the cold side the outlet is also standard (63mm?)is the diamiter the same at the throtle inlet bit.
samcos must come in the same size ,but have all turbos the same outlet size eg T3 T34(50mm.) the probs i am having with my hoses i am thinking of going out to get some samcos to compare.my turbo side hose seems to reduce too quickly at the cooler that it kinks when atached to the turbo ,so i was wondering if the samco reduces maybe a little later??
all help apreciated as i am now getting frustrated with my self .Thought even i could fit a cooler without probs but no!!!!!!!

Default Boost hoses.

The standard intercooler outlets are 60mm external diametre at each end.
The standard throttle body is 63mm external diametre.
The T3 & T34 turbo outlet is 51mm external diametre.
The T3 inlet is 60mm external diametre.
The T34 inlet is 70mm external diametre.
The T38 outlet is 63mm external diametre.
The T38 inlet is 70mm external diametre.
The T4 outlet is 63mm external diametre.
The T4 inlet is 76mm external diametre.

The problems occur with the hoses when after market intercooler manufacturers make both outlets straight out at 90 degree's.
The standard intercooler outlet on the turbo side is angled towards the wing.
The standard turbo to intercooler hose will fit but it has to be cut down. for straight outlet intercoolers.

PS i manufacture polished stainless steel boost pipes for this conversion.

Hope this has helped.

Regards Paul.

am i reading corectly in thinking your hose would also need to be cut down and joined in the middle.

Default T3 boost hose

You would only have to cut it to suit at the end it goes onto the turbo charger not in the middle.
With conversions like this i leave the hose long so you can cut it to your car.
