Why on earth would those parts need to be replaced? That's just crazy. Surely its a major design flaw if this pedestrian safety system cannot simply be reset.

The rams must be like an airbag, once its gone off, thats it. The ecu, god knows, nissan want to make more money? presumably the hinges get bent/broken when it fires.

You seen the thing bmw are bringing out? An airbag under the front of the car, which digs into the road to stop the car quicker when it thinks you are about to crash? Can't see that being a cheap repair every time you dap the brakes a bit hard!

Wonder if as this system gets put into more cars, the production cost comes down and so in a year or two they are nowhere near as expensive?
