Default Is there any way this guy can scam me? Ebay.

Hi Kids,

I'm currently selling a Sony Satio on Ebay and this guy has emailed to ask if I will send it to North America (have stated UK postage only) I have told him twice that I won't but he has bid anyway and he is currently the high bidder (0 feedback as well) if he wins it and pays, is there any way that he can get the money back out of my Paypal account if I transfer it to the bank? I don't mind sending it if he's kosher but I don't want to send it and find myself £300 (hopefully) out of pocket!!

i know it sounds daft but if i sell/buy anything on ebay i like to speak to the other party involved over the phone if possible just to even things out if that makes sense. If they can prove they are legit and are serious about what it is your selling then cool but with 0 feedback i would be very cautious, not to mention them being overseas. Ask for contact details and see if anything out of place pops up then or see what their response is.

dont sell it he has up to 45 days after the sale to start a dispute he probably will lie and say it didnt match the description then paypal will probably go in his favour and then you cant even go round his house and chin him.

ebay/paypal are bad for sellers if it was a cheap item it wouldnt be so bad but £300 is it worth the risk ? just cancel his bids.

Not worth the risk, but sort of your own fault as you can restrict your auctions to accept bids from countries that you wish to trade with so you could have checked the box for UK only bidders and he couldn't have bidded. Just remove his bid and change the preferences.

Have done that for years and when someone from abroard is really interested they normally message you, which i can then lift the restriction for them if they seem all good, but only if they pay via direct bank transfer, as i dont think they can get the cash back at all?

I was selling a psp on ebay months ago. The highest bidder was from the US, 0 feedback.

They put as payment sent to Paypal then unregistered, 2 days later i recieved an email asking how long will it be as they have bought the psp for their friends childs Birthday and can i send it ASAP.

I check Paypal and no funds were sent.

Sounds like a scam, don't send.

Cancel his bid and block him, if you put the money in you bank and he wins a paypal depute then your paypal will be in the red showing -£300 and you will end up having to pay it back.
