'the ageing 2.5-litre five-cylinder unit could be replaced by a new 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6 with 350bhp and 475Nm of torque.'

COULD being the word that stands out in that sentence.

I bet it will still be front wheel drive. Ford could do with dropping front wheel drive if they really want to compete in that sector.

well the engine has been in development for a while apparently, so it stands to reason that it could well be offered in the mondeo. i agree that it'd be nice to see a rwd/4x4 mondeo though - jag will no doubt be using the engine in their cars so im sure some sort of arrangement could be come to with tata....

If VX have the sense to go 4wd with that power, surely Ford will do the right thing for once.
Mitsubishi and Subaru have proved theres already a market, so whats the problem????

Problem???......Jose Craparse!!!!!!!!! (sp.) Focus RS guru lol lol.

Ford own the best 4x4 technology (Volvo). Its a no brainer, unless you develop for Ford alledgedly.

Lets be honest in the current climate the mondy is more likely to get the new 4 pot turbo ecoboost engine than a v6 turbo.
