I so want a set up like that for my truck. Be awesome for living here in Seattle in the winter also I would never have to pay for a lift ticket again when I go snowboarding. Ive heard the traxs cost about $5,000 a wheel.

I say it, because based on everything I've heard, he isn't actually that good....
I would happily wager, that if you put any of the top level WRC drivers in that situation, where they do these displays that are heavily rehearsed, in known conditions, they could all do it.
Driving a car properly fast, in far ore unpredictable situations is a whole new ball game. This guy has done a great job of marketing himself, and he obviously has some skills, but I can't quite see him threatening Sebastien Loeb just yet

Don't look like he's done to bad for a Rally Driver.

Pissing myself laughing at people thinking he'll do well in WRC.
Just to give the KEN BLOCK fan club a bit of a reality check. He took part in a rally last yr in scotland (mcrae stages i'm sure) and got his arse handed to him by retired and amateur rally drivers in MK2 escorts, mantas etc etc while he was driving an grp a impreza.
I wonder how many abandoned hangers or runways there will be on the stages the 2010 wrc calender?????????
Oh wait there's fuck all.
Sorry but i don't care what anyone says he ain't good enough for that level.

He is competing at the highest level because he's American. A great way to raise the profile of WRC to Americans. A wise money making move.

So what? He's still made it there, Would you be complaining if you were racing at WRC level even if you weren't the best of the best? no, didn't think so.
I'm not a fanboy or anything, just don't like people putting other people down when they don't know them! (not saying I do) People are too quick to put people down and find the negatives, instead of looking at the positives...

Still, I think Block could do ok... he's got the experience with rallying in America, although this will be stepping it up.

He's been given a seat to promote Monster Energy Drinks. Hardly making it. No young talent makes it into rallying now because people are willing to pay for seats, which is why you'll probably never see great British drivers like McRae and Burns again.

Agree with Dan, it's a money maker, all for PR reasons. It might do the sport some good. God knows, it needs it.
For those saying I was putting him down, I never said he was a bad driver. He's obviously talented to be able to do what he does. But being talented, and being WRC-talented, are two totally different things.
I wish him the best of luck, because having someone with his profile might do the series some good, but I can't see him doing that well to be honest!

I've spoken to him a couple of times and you couldent find a sounder bloke!! Will engage in a conversation with people like thier old pals, unlike the arrogant drivers that think they are above others for who they are.

Nothing to do with jealous. As I've clearly said, he obviously has ability, it's just whether that ability is going to translate into the top level of rallying. Doing a heavily rehearsed display in front of a crowd is one thing, pushing to the absolute limit in unpredictable conditions is quite another.
Just because he can do donuts between some cones and go through the odd hangar sideways, does not make him a WRC contender
It was a mk2 he was in and he was show boating for the crowd rather than going balls out on a memorial rally.

Though as said, he might do a lot for promoting the sport to a wider audience, so it could bring certain benefits. Though that possibly isn't what it should be about...
Now if you'll excuse me, let me go and stab my voodoo doll of Seb Loeb cos I'm bitter that he's a better driver than me
