My friends 220bhp S2 puts it down quite well and pulls like a train.

Going for a ZT now though, so god knows the power.

the story i was told (by a respectable rally driver/parts supplier) was a guy came in who had already spent shedloads of money on his rst,it was mint and running 210bhp.after a few months the same matey came back in saying ive got to have 240bhp.The supplier said it will cost a fair whack and might not be worth it.the guy said moneys no object and had it done.came back a few days later and said he hated it,it drove like shit, spinning up etc and did not seem as fast as before.

Thats probably because at that sort of power 200 - 240, is about the limit you can get from Probably the turbo (depending on what you have), managment (or fueling) and a few other factors, so to go for more a change of turbo or turbo spec and managment would probably be in order and that really does change the way the car drives, it would go from a punchy feel to no doubt a rather lazy feel.

My mates got what i think is an excellent conversion, its a complete NMS engine build and runs a 5th injector for the extra fueling, without the need for cosworth management and it is running in the region of 230 - 250bhp and feels really good. Very punchy and quite savage, but still spins the wheels if not drivin correctly, which i think you will find with most escorts with 200+ ponies.

That's a hefty spec you've listed there. I think it's down to what you want to use it for really. I'm happy for 200 brake out of mine and it surprises a lot of modern cars on the road. I've been in 300 brake RST's and it's a totally different experiance all together. Very good fun but hard to keep the power down. Suspension would need doing if not already done so too.
