Default Pug 306 problem.....

Mates got a shitty 306 1.4 petrol which he smokes about in (done 92k on an N plate), got it for peanuts to use as a winter runabout. However whenever he puts his foot flat on the throttle the car starts jumping about until it gets to speed. Light throttle it doesnt do this, but being a shitter foot down is needed! Any ideas? Could it be fuel pump, air flow meter???? Any ideas?!!

Cheers

If it's the single point injection engine then there are quite often problems with the MAF. Otherwise if it's carb'd, get some cleaner out!
