Default Any V.W Tech's?

Can anyone give me any advice on a v.w. touran i bought a 55 plate 2.0 tdi friday and iv got a couple of issue's. From cold start its smoking alot could it be glow plugs? and also when clutch is depressed the car seems to want to still creep forward and lowers engine tone?

Cheers Ben

If its creeping when the clutch is depreseed it will more then likely be the master or slave cylinder.

i'll hazard a guess at the "creeping" is a weak slave cylinder not disengaging clutch properly.

Is the engine code one starting with BKD?

If so my 07 plate Golf has had the problem, and a quick scout round the internet forums tells me it seems more common than it should be.

I mean the cylinder head one, sorry.

The engine code should be on a sticker with a barcode on.

Cracked heads can be a bit tricky to spot on these. When I was a tech for a Seat dealer, I had a few of these. They showed no obvious external leaks but were actually leaking into the exhaust ports in the head. Done about 6 of these when I worked there.

What is the best way to diagnose this or is it head off job??

When its started from stone cold it does have a slight miss if you know what i mean, and clouds of smoke, would it be possible for the oil water mix?

The garage have tried telling me that any work over £500 and i have to pay

Sorry for all the questions i just want to get an idea incase they try to fob me off with a load of crap from there mechanics
