Default ST Duratec query

hi all,

ive owned my 06 plate ST for just over 12 months now, it has done 47,00 upto date but has a very strange stutter at low revs in all gears, if i slow the car down to around 1,200rpm and then put my foot down the car seems to stutter/judder whilst gaining revs? a friend of mine said the car could be ''pinkin''? which he explained as a fuel serge or something? im quite worried about this and dont know where to start as im not mechanically minded,

many thanks tom
