i was talking to my mate about the xbox last nite and he asked what background i had ? after a chat i then realised that i could put my own background . yes i know you lot probably done it years ago lol. but i really dont get time to use the ting alot due to kids etc

now most of the stuff i want to put on it is on my fone . ive put music on the xbox now by putting a disc in and saving to the hard drive . i can do that bit . so i thought id put some pics on it and a couple of the vids off my fone . but when i go to pics i can display all the pics on the fone and save one as background but thats it ? is that all the xbox will do or am i doing it wrong ? and the same with vids but when i go to the vid bit on the xbox it doesnt show anything even tho the fone is connected ?

i might be completely wrong with what im trying to do but i know one of you clever peeps out there will know lol

How did you connect your phone? Usb? I didnt think you could tbh!

i didnt know till last night . we were playing guitar hero and my mate plugged the guitar in the front of the xbox in the usb . i didnt even know the sockets were there lol . then he said you could connect your fone ? so i did it this morning and it worked . now got my baby as my background

how can you not know the usb's are there? How you plug your pad in?

Took me a good few months to 'discover' that it had 2 extra usb's at the front behind that flap. Until then I always used the one at the back to charge the pad etc, thinking the front outline was just a line or blanking plate in the case, kind of like you see with older cars that don't have air con and so the button is just a fake button.

You can get backgrounds/themes off Xbox live, some free some cost. Just scroll to game market place, explore game content, themes and gamer pictures and download one. After that you can just go to My xbox, scroll right to your profile/account/bloke and then click change theme on there.

Not sure about putting your own ones found elsewhere on the xbox though, probably with a hard disk transfer cable which is how modify your gamertag or hack your achievements etc. For videos you need to make sure they are the types of files/codecs that Windows media player will play, if not you need to convert them.

didnt know you could get recharge packs ? how much are they ? anyone got a link . they kids sit on the bloody thing 24/7 so i go through batteries like water . mite be a good investment

You cant make your own themes , for the new dashboard , with the old one you could. if you just want a background stick it on a usb pen and put it in xbox , open the image on the usb drive and press Y to set it as back ground , i think it is Y anyways , good luck
