My thoughts are somebody just needs to get it fucking sorted as we are close to NOT having a British GP. Racing won't be able to come home next year!

Not surprised in the slightest, Donington has been a disaster since day one.
Be interesting to see if it does return to Silverstone, but I doubt Ecclestone would mind a bit if it didn't. He hates the BRDC and would undoubtedly prefer another race in the oil rich middle east, that's where the money is.
How much damage has been done to Donington then?

i went the very first rsoc national day at donnington,i went the last one too and tbh it was good but the place still looked 1980's,infact if you look at them crash videos or race videos from the 80's and see donnington it doesn't look any different.
the difference between silverstone and donnington is like night and day and having been to both i couldn't see how donnington got it as it was never going to look good unless you spent probably 250 million on the place and then it still would only look like silverstone.
shame donnington hasn't had money spent on it sooner like oulton, thats a whole different place compared to the 80's and 90's oulton park of old.

Silverstone is the best track option to ensure F1 in Britain, I agree that it's not a great bike circuit, especially with the stupid last chicane. I can't help but wonder why Rockingham hasn't pitched in, works at Indy, but I am not sure what the infield track is like at Rockingham..

Infield at Rockingham is way too tight and twisty for F1 I think, just wouldn't work well.
Silverstone is the best choice, driver's like it, and it's by far and away in the best position to operate the British GP.
Lets just hope Donington can be put back together, as it's a great circuit for national level motorsport

Shame as the new layout looked good I reckon.
I can see there not being a british GP unless silverstone seriously bend over and beg for bernie to shaft them, he's holding all the cards and there are loads of other countries that would love a GP!

the 2010 F1 was always going to be held at silverstone,
i work for an event company and one of our jobs is the F1, when we were breaking down the F1 this year we were told then that it would still be at silverstone.
we done some work at the track a few weeks later and was told papers had been signed and the 2010 F1 would 100% be at silverstone

The British grand prix is one, if not the most, well attended events in the F1 calender. Over 100k people attended the weekend event last year. Mr.E would not want to drop such a well attended event from his publicity machine surely?

Chip wages out there will mainly be low as labourers will mainly be Indian/Pakistani etc.
Just cant see Ł35 billion on circuit. Even $35bn is a lot. If it was true the only way that was to be spent would be the GP circuit would be a part of a much bigger thing.
