BASIC MATHS. Mean of this Frequency Table.. help?
BASIC fucking maths, but struggling with this one. Just can't get the answer.
Need to find the MEAN average of this data:
Tell me your answer and how you've worked it out, I'll tell you if you're right.
I know it's late, but revision time.

Cheers guys.

0 * 18 = 0
1 * 25= 25
2 * 15 = 30
3 * 13 = 39
4 * 7 = 28
5 * 2 = 10
Total reboots = 132
Total number of machines = 18 + 25 + 15 + 13 + 7 + 2 = 80
Mean average number of reboots = 132 / 80 = 1.65
Thats if I have understood the question correctly of course!

Fair play to you for giving it a go at going back into education mate.
I'd hate to go back to school now, well unless it was a girls sixth form obviously

I said "shit" in a post!
Got a weeks ban for pointing out that there's at least 3 pages of people who have said it in the last 30 days who didn't get an "infraction"
It's all kicked off anyway, apparently 10 or so members have been banned tonight for kicking up a fuss.

That's not GCSE, surely? That's degree shit that!! My Maths is the worst in the world. I bet I am the worst at Maths on this whole forum. How did you lot work the answer out? I'll see if I can understand. All the best with the course, Dan.

It is GCSE that. Maybe slightly higher level, sort of upper sets GCSE perhaps, but definately GCSE sort of stuff.
I did the same stuff Dan is doing this time last year, and I think I've forgotten the lot of it already

Behave, thats very simple maths, definately GCSE level or below, nothing like you would come across in an 'A' level let along a degree!
If you are in the top sets for maths, you would be doing that sot of thing at 13/14 typically back in my day (for normal people I mean as opposed to nerds like me who took their maths gcse at 14 anyway)
As per the workings I showed above, you simply add up the number of computers, then add up the number of reboots, and the average number of reboots per machine is simply one divided by the other.
