UPDATE: We have CCTV footage! Thanks to a neighbour, and the alarm went off. How we never heard it!!!!!
You can even hear the door or bonnet popping open.
Car pulls up and waits
Alarm goes on
Door being slammed
Hear Car starting
Waiting car pulls off
something is shouted
ahhhhhh cant watch anymore. Leaving the wife to look through it. Awaiting the police to collect the tape.

Yeah it would help everyone if it was made clear what security these stolen cars had, so we can know what's good and what's not! Everybody says "I won't mention the security on a public forum" etc. but perhaps it would help if people did tell!

thing is even a basic Cat 2 immobilisor has 2 circuit immobilisation so youd need to know exactly where to hot wire to get round it and youd be relying on the immobilisor cutting into the circuit in the same place on all cars (something a decent fitter should be doing is not putting everything in same place on cars!!).
even so its not a few seconds job.
5 seconds to get in car, 1 sec pop bonnet so accomplace can rip off and smash alarm sounder/car horn, 5 secs to get off steering lock/snap column lock, 5 seconds to get off cowling to play with wiring, 5 seconds to pull off ignition switch insert screwdriver and start car and get moving. so thats 21 seconds.
Youd expect an immobilisor and modified disklock to add minutes to that time.
Concerning if theres now major weakness' in common immobilisors!!

I live in the second house of the street. Speaking to neighbours in the first house, they admitted to leaving the labour club across the road at 1:15am approx, and noticing 3 youths climbing out of the sub station at the bottom of the road, all wearing hoods, gloves, scarfs, etc. ANd just went into their house and thought they were up to something......... I FU*KING DESPAIR.
The alarm was going off for 20 mins on the tape, no idea why we didn't hear it. We have in the past. Then all goes quiet, still haven't seen my car leave my street (which is the only way off the estate)

Honestly? Teenage lads don't have a clue what it is, Christ most of them don't know what a 3 door is. So assumed it would not warrant any attention, unless from determined professional thieves. Which in such case would of meant spending nearly 100% of the cost of the car to me, to fit modern up to date alarm.

They arent nicking it for its value they nick it because they see old = little security so easy to steal for a joyride and subsequent burning out.
Dont underestimate car thiefs either. They will be aware that its a sportyish model so better to joyride than the usual 1.3 fiesta mk3 or metro they steal.

disagree, granted the starter circuit takes seconds to get round if you need to at all but the other cut is all down to the fitter using his noggin and tracing wires to a nice dark place in the loom and not going to the fuel pump relay!(which I see loads of!)
