Not really, regardless of technology; enough gas, bullets and unecessary medical experiments that would always spell out eventual death could easily go through 3 million captives of Auschwitz. But I do see your point, the difference is that now people aren't so defenseless and the Yanks have distributed enough arms around the world that anyone can defend themselves and everyone can rebel....which is exactly what happened at Treblinka in '43.
