on a .55 housing the most your gonna hold after a sensible peak will be about 22-24psi...unless your going for a boost peak of about 36psi like some do then id expect 28-30 psi..cheers danny

In a way Pete's right, because you've not even stated what injectors you're running. Or if you have a boost spike and a final held figure?

Unless you simply mean, what is the MOST you can expect it to hold? In which case you worded it all very badly

depends totally on how much air your engine can consume,

generally with the t34s the boost spikes, then gradually falls as revs increase, as the engine starts to consume more air,

but the final figures depend on ve

iv seen hes other posts and knew hes spec and also knew the last peak boost he had was 1.9 bar so kind of knew what he meant.lol..even with silly boost like 36psi he will never hold more than 28-30psi on a .55 housing,so if hes still at pretty senseble boost say 30psi id say he would be lucky to hold 24 psi..as said 34s always spike hard..cheers danny

because the engine will consume all the air the t34 can make at high rpm pete, so you lose the plenum pressure,

the t34 compressor just isnt large enough to keep up

....it's just Danny said if u have a large spike u can hold 28-30psi.......so why not with a lower spike...???.....cheers

exactly what james just said...a t4 or similar yeah no probs..infact the bigger the turbo the harder it is to stop the boost to keep climbing hence needing better boost control, seperate wgs etc..cheers danny

ive not seen one hold that much, we do lots of flat out t34 maps, and the gate is closed after the spike has been controlled all the way to the limiter, and the engine takes all the air the t34 can make, the final figure is dependant on how much of the air the engine is using, because the turbo is flat out,

its quite interesting watching the boost gauge on a flat out map, as you can see the spike,as initially the turbo produces more air then the engine can swallow, then watch the gauge slowly drop as the engine consumes more and more air as revs increase, you could weld the gate closed and not see any more plenum pressure lol

im only guessing that fig as like james says it all depends on the amount of air the engine can consume..iv never seen more than 25-26psi at 6.5 k on a t34 but iv never run more than 32psi..thought that some of the boost junkies would have seen more hence my guess at 28-30psi lol..danny

i used to spike my t34 at 36psi, but it still dropped considerably at high rpm,

pete, i know

its just interesting to see the pressure drop knowing there is no boost control involved, its all being consumed
