Samething happened to me, not at a car meet, but in ASDA car park.. while I was shopping.
Went back in and told them someone had stolen part of my car, security checked CCTV and gave a copy to the Police.
The police managed to get the cover back from the person that took it! I was so surprised, usually the Police are useless when it comes to stuff like that.
Make sure you tell them its an expensive/rare part from an old car .. so they take you seriously.

That's really odd. Although I've only been to the Enfield meet for the last few months everybody there seems to really get on well and it's a nice tight knit group.
Alex runs the meet and I know he wouldn't be impressed to hear this so it may be worth dropping him a pm as a lot of people that attend this meet also go to Essex RSOC which Alex also runs. I'm sure if anybody could get to the bottom of this he would.

this is sounding more and more common... wasnt so long ago i think i read a thread on here about someone getting parts nicked off there car - whilst on show, in a show!! getting me a bit paranoid to say the least!

trampy little shits, either scummers that want a part for their car and dont want to pay for one or scummers that steal bits and flog them on ebay.
See if you can get the cctv or a still of them, then post it up, if he turns up again he can have his teeth knocked in as payment for the parts.

Hi mate, gonna speak to Alex tomorrow and ask him to look into the matter.
His username is icekoub, so please feel free to pm him with any info you acquire so the culprit can be dealt with.
Are you 100% confident this was not removed elsewhere, or fell off en route? (have to ask).
Thanks

Hi mate, I'm Alex and I run the North London PF meet.
I am very dissapointed to hear about this incident and will do my best to look into the matter.
Please feel free to PM me with any of your findings and keep me updated.
I can assure you that this meet is attended by a very close knit and friendly group and I would like you to confirm that the item wasn't lost on the way home?
Please be aware that if I find out it had been stolen at my meet, the culprit will be dealt with accordingly and also banned from all future meets, including Essex RSOC.
Please don't be put off at attending future meets and I hope to see you next month?
Thanks

This ebay seller has replicated the saph front towing eye cover, not original but a cheap replacement if you don't get your one back

Gutted to hear this mate. I've always enjoyed my time up at the North London PF meet, Alex and the guys are a cool bunch. Unfortunately it's on a car park and open to all so any chav who may have seen a collection of nice cars could have walked in.
Understand how you feel though mate, hope you get something from the CCTV. Can't have anything nice these days
