Default So who's had a diesel remap???

And what difference did you notice?

I'm considering having the kidcarrier remapped by Stu and I was wondering how noticable the difference was in real life?
Did you really notice that the fueleconomy was better or that is was more responsive and nippier??

It's a 3 litre V6 turbodiesel btw.

Much more responsive, like there was some restriction there before

Fuel economy the same or a tad worse

What can be done to, lets say a 1.9 gt tdi 150 golf mk4?

I don't want to spend mega money but would like to know what gains could be had?

thanks

Alot can be done see my sig

But a remap alone will release 45hp and 90NM torque

Find a local dealer - http://www.evolutionchips.co.uk/dealer2.html

Seems to me like you need to turn the boost up to 2 bar and get it re mapped!

is that all you need for 230bhp?

I know you've gone down a different route bobby but alot of others seem to be going down the route i've just suggested :P

My octavia 110tdi was remapped to 143bhp. Went like the clappers, so did the clutch and dual mass flywheel!!!!!!

It is an improvement but do your research first as to known weaknesses with other parts of the car/drivetrain before you consider it.

I've just bought a Mk4 GT TDi 150 and had a remap done - thing goes well now, LOADS of torque and genuinely holds its own against some of the local 'boy racers'

I would say mine is now running about 200bhp, 300lb/ft and comfortably breezes 45mpg - i've had 53mpg on the motorway out of it

Bobbys has been done properly

although you can get power with just mapping, last time my 150 was on the dyno (only a remap & panel filter) it pulled 210bhp & 315lbs/ft.
to go any further i would want a good clutch/flywheel, hybrid turbo & exhaust.

I paid Ł4000 for the car, retail on the remap is Ł359 - it's a professional remap, no chips or plug in boxes...

Mine was on 125,000 miles when i got it and after some 'enthusiastic' driving I got a little touch of clutch slip at peak torque.

New flywheel and clutch were done for about Ł350 and it's been absolutely fine since!

I had my 130 diesel Bora done, proper mega. Love it. Made over 300lb/ft on the dyno.

Just picked up a brand new hybrid turbo for it to go more power, i am looking at the same power Bobby has got. (230-250bhp) Cant wait.

I take it you fitted the clutch & fly wheel yourself ? It wouldnt normaly be that cheap to have them replaced would it ??

Looking to get the Leon FR done at some point , but the car has a troublesome DPF filter fitted, but once the warranty runs out that will be binned.

I saw seat ibiza diesel at pod. Couldn't have had DPF fitted and an aggressive map as you couldn't see it go up the strip for soot and smog.

Mapping is the best thing you will do mate.

My car goes really well!

Just under 100k, put a brand new clutch and flywheel in it about 1500 mile ago. I should of put an uprated clutch plate and cover in it really, but didnt think id be going for more power, doh! Lol.

Ive had my 08 140 sporttvan done and its a totally diffrent van to drive its its a flying machine the best way to describe it is the turbo pull really hard all the way to the govenor and before would only pull really well at lower revs the torque is brilliant even with big ifor williams trailer and a cossy on it pulls like a train.
