Default Removing fuel line from fuel rail......

Trying to remove the fuel line from the fuel rail (Bayonet type connection on cossie.....Anyone know how to do this when you don't have the right tool ?????

dead easy jim. get a sheet of metal (prefferably ally as it's easier to bend) about 1mm thick. cut a strip half an inch wide, and long enough to wrap around the metal pipe and nearly touch ends. insert it into the joint, it will push the spring open and you'll be able to tug the 2 parts apart. to join them back together, just psh them until the spring clicks in place again.

If i remember correctly you can't pull the hose out of the bayonet while pushing the spring. I think it only works if you push the spring loaded side of the connector off the hose.

Hard to explain and even harder to do lol

i'm not sure what you mean andreas. what i am saying is that you can easily seperate the fuel rail from the fuel hose on a 2wd fuel rail by my method. maybe you and jim are talking about the 4x4 fuel rail that does not have this quicklok joint?
