erst clutch recomendations
yet again tis me asking to rack peoples brains for tried and maybe tested clutches this time!!
ive got a rear engined rst powered 106 which last year was running at 190bhp at the rear wheels, now ive used ap paddle clutch and a sachs race clutch, both of which r fine on the road, so wats the problem? well santa pod and launching the car!
they just will not cope, the car is built to grip and with 17s i had last year thats something it certainly did do, infact i feel too well! if i dont launch the car at pod at 5500rpm plus then it bogs down big time, and launching at over 5500rpm destroys the clutch as the wheels just wouldnt spin, something had to and my theory is that its the clutch!
in a fwd car im sure these cluthces would be no problem but with the squat and grip ive been getting and trying to drive the rear wheels which are being forced into the ever so sticky santa pod tarmac, they just wont cope
so, please do anyof you have any suggestions as to another clutch i could use that would handle the power combined with grip factor? also i will be dropping to 16s with 195/40/16 tyres which will make the rolling radius much smaller
many thanks for any help, there must b specialist people out there who can help or peeps with high powered rst's that are having clutch trouble?
thanks
adam

I had a AP paddle in my iccle XR2 Turbo which i like to launch as hard as i could. Normally lots of wheel spin and a lot less strees than yours will give a clutch.
Needless to say it destroyed the clutch plate very quickly.
It ripped the centre away from the outer bit that holds the friction pads.
I now have a Alcon 6 Paddle but have yet to put it under any stress.
