Default BT Voyager Router Problem with XP SP2

Having just bought a new PC which has Windows XP SP2 on it, I am having problems setting up Port Forwarding.

I managed to get it set up on my old machine, but I am having no joy now.

To set up the Voyager, you are supposed to go to 192.168.1.1, which then gives a menu. When I click on any of the Menu options, all it does is refresh the page, but doesn't actually move on.

Has anyone else had this problem??

First off:

The PC whos port you are trying to forward to has a static IP i take it? (usually something like 192.168.03)

Secondly:

When accessing the router through a HTTP style interface turn off all firewalls (be it Norton, Zone alarm, XPs own build in one)

This should solve ya problem

I just wish mine was that easy to sort.

I am trying to use Shareaza. I have always got on really well with it, but just cant use it atall since installing the Router.

Right you got your firewall tuned on?

Also, has your router got a firewall and is it got a port blocking function? Find out what ports are being used by Shareaza and see if there blocked on your router or winxp firewall.

You shouldnt need to use port forwarding for a pc on a network using fire sharing programs (I dont! )

As above, I use the normal Kazza p2p sharing program fine. The 205 does have a built in firewall
