what bhp and torque figures for a t4??? (now results & graph)
what sort of bhp and torque figures should i see from a t4??
the mapping is'nt finished due to a few faults so it's running 25psi at the minute.
spec is...
about 7.9-1 comp
500bhp spec head
bd14 inlet cam
stand ex cam
4x4 plenum with 10mm spacer
siemens 83lbs injectors
the last t4 engine running about 26 psi on a set of greys we did made 440 bhp and 410 lbft which was good
so i wouldnt think yours would be far off with similar boost
but as above with the bigger boost ill have a guess at them figures
well it made 448bhp which i'm very happy with
not to happy with the torque 329lbs
but i had a problem with the rad, the rad is standard and i had the fans wired the wrong way after refitting it and not checking which way they went
so the car started to warm up after the second run.
also had wheel spin. guy told me that he needed to do a few runs to get heat in the tyres but did'nt want to due to the car warming up.
will the torque be low due to the fact of the wheel spin?
i will post the graph as soon as i get it scanned onto my computer
the reason the tourque is down is probably because on the rollers your only getting the max tourque at max revs like say 6.5k and not were youd see it on a dyno like say 4.5k,im probably not making sense but basically its like our rollers,it only gives peak tourque at the end of the rev band and not were it peaks lower down..i think its just down to tourque loads on the rollers..look at your dyno sheet and i bet that tourque figure is over 6k??cheers danny

i'm not sure what to look at on the graphs so i'll get them posted and let you guys tell me the pro's and con's
sorry mate dont want to sound shitty but them figures are wank unless your 4wd wich i take it your not??iv never seen a 2wd cossy loose so much power through transmission as that!!over a 100bhp,either his transmission losses are way out or his dyno needs to be recalibrated..as i said earlier your tourque fig there is at the top end of the rev scale so not your peak tourque fig,id say that was awesom tourque at 6.6k and would be around 38olb ft at 4.5k ish but them rollers are wrong!!cheers danny,ps if you take the wheel fig and asume thats correct your car is 405 bhp ish, still not bad for 25 psi

not sure about the transmisson loss, i will phone them tommorrow

yeah 2wd cossies loose about 17-18% through the transmission, that means 450 bhp with 18% loss is a 81 bhp loss making 369 at wheels as an ex..cheers danny

i'll phone them tomorrow and ask what the problem is.
when your turbo was on my car at 2.2 bar it made 408 bhp at the wheels at 7600 rpm. and my ports were virtually standard size so you should see 420 + atw when its finished mate
my graph to compare against mate. 2.2 bar is from 5300 rpm to limiter. 4700 to 5300 rpm is 25 psi so 5000 rpm should be same as yours mate. crank power is defo out imo my graph shows 14 % losses which would make it about 405 bhp crank.

that power fig is more like it apart from them power losses are to low imo..14% is less than most fwd cars...thats the problem with rolling roads the transmission losses are always different..if you take the 408 at the wheels fig then thats basicly 500 bhp, thats about right with small ports..cheers danny
