it goes ok but i know there's more to come.

i put it against my mate 4x4 with is running greys and a t34/63 running 32psi

it pulled away slowly from him.

if his was say 400bhp 4x4 and mine was 448bhp 2wd.
how quick should it pull away?

the guy on the phone at motorscope where my car was doen has just told me both power's are correct to 1bhp so it must be my gearbox or diff,

how can a rolling road give you power readings from flywheel and wheels with calculating it?

i have to phone back tomorrow and speak to the guy who did it for him to explain.

RR's are allways gonna make you disapointed unless thery're making BS figures to please customers.

Arse dyno is the best , if it goes like a bastard its quick. If not speak to your tuner.

Something is quite clearly a miss there mate, go elsewhere

To be honest, if MSD has told you it is 450bhp and it's all ok, I would believe them!!

Done the same when Karl set ours up, he said "It is 350bhp and 350ft/lb torque, plus or minus 5 each way, on both"

As above if he's telling you it is your gearbox or diff, you're getting fobbed off

My car made 385bhp at the wheels and 455bhp at the fly, this works out at roughly 18% for transmisson losses. Your car at 342bhp works out at about 404bhp with the same losses. Mine was done on a dyno dynamics hub dyno.

I have never been confident in dastek rollers since i went to a RR day a few years back and all the cars were making well over what they did else where.

Also your torque is way down on what mine is, but like you said the mapping isnt finished yet so there may be more to come. Aslong as you enjoy it thats all that matters.

to be honest i thought it would'nt make 400bhp so 404bhp sounds and feels about right.

just hope it's ok after its finished.

does anyone know where is a accurate rolling road? i'm from durham.

Just take it the place you did before but work out the fly wheel figure yourself. Just add 17-18% to your wheel figure to give you a rough idea of what it is at the fly, it wont be far out give or take 5bhp

dastek are good with a good operator. my skyline came in at 14 % losses in rwd mode same as my cos trans losses 2wd.

the same rollers did a

427 fly and just under 360 @wheels

how do these rollers get a flywheel figure?

yeah but thats wrong...you wont get a rwd in the land that only looses 14%your skyline would have more losses than a cossie due to having transfer box etc...

General rule is:

Wheel bhp + Transmission loss [if they dont use the coast down method}

FWD= 15%
RWD= 17-18%
4x4= 25%

thats exactly what iv read and learnt with our rollers..think the 4wd cossies normaly come out between 20-22% though but evos and skylines are around 24%..cheers danny

but u forgot to say the percentage lost goes down the more power u have.......after all it's the same parts that lose the power on a 200bhp car and a 400bhp car for example........

well if thats true b13 jus should have less losses not more,hes works out ove 22%..they say once youve got more power moving the same parts you may experience less losses but its so small it never realy shows..danny

thats a good read and validates my thoughts of 14 % losses as he quotes 12 - 14 % on a 300 - 500 bhp car.

trans losses are always over exagerated and it seems logical to me that the % will decrease as the power increases.

if a 1000 bhp skyline lost 22 % at all 4 wheels it would have 780 bhp at the wheels now surely anyone with a ounce of sense realises that is just bullshit.

skyline has 60 more bhp, skyine at equal power would have higher % loss so skyline does have higher % losses at any given power.

as for nothing at 14 % ever are you trying to tell me a 2000 bhp rwd car only has 1720 bhp at the wheels ?

or an 8000 bhp dragster would loose 1120 bhp ........ errrr no

il eat my own finger if it would loose 280 bhp !
how do you explain b13 jus car loosing so much thro trans on same rollers as yours???a skyline box will have bigger losses than a cossy box fact yet the rollers gave the same losses???i take it you have low ratios too??on your dyno plot it says you only get 13.?mph to every k in 4th..so your car only does 100 mph at 7.5k in 4th??them rollers are wrong,maybe not the wheel fig but transmission is wrong!!iv had cossies from std to 600bhp and even at 600 bhp they still loose 16-17%so yes that 2000 bhp car will be 1720 bhp after losses cos the box he uses will be bigger and stronger..like your liner box is bigger and stronger than a t5...

never noticed the speed before must of not been calibrated to machine for speed. i have a previous run in the skyline with different turbos in 4wd and that still only had 18.6 % losses, still with dastek but no speed per rpm even indicated, i think rob must not bother with the speed bit.

tweenie rob has been mapping and r/r skylines for years so im confident the figures are as close as they can be on a r/r. tweenies a legend.

as for b13 jus result his wheel figure must be pretty close but fly massivly over exagerated for some reason ?

at the end of the day wheel figures are all that really matter as the power we actually get to the road.
