You genuinely believed it? I certainly didn't
He used examples to make you think it was all factual (like that fact about the people guessing the weight of the cow). But the cow's weight is a 'fact', the lottery numbers are completely random, and as such the two aren't comparable.
There is no way that automatic writing could have come up with the answer. The whole programme was just more misdirection to make you believe him.
Why didn't he show the final group the numbers? Or at least write them down and leave them in the room for the group to check after the draw? Why? Becuse the numbers they 'chose' weren't the actual numbers!

Load of bollocks. I think half the people in that room believed it as well.

Do you think people know they win beforehand?
With an audience of say 14 million people all using different combinations and I can surely predict that one person will definately win. Will you believe I did it by counting the cows in a field and then dividing them by the amount of shite in the field opposite?

Testing the future
he is extremely clever and i think as has been said you will need to watch the whole series to get more clues.
the snowflake was just a demonstration that there is predictability in randomness

Sounds like the beer festival and Indian was the better option last night.
Its not on 4od yet or the tube, so still waiting to see it.
But buy the looks of things on here, I didnt miss much.
I really hope its not as bad as some folk say, as I really like his programs.
Maybe he has finally SOLD OUT? (I do hope not)

I watched the Friday programme, and the way he predicted the niumbers with the 24 members of pubic also told us that (according to laws of averages) he could never have had numbers 1 or 49 in his so called prediction. He also said before the draw that he was only going to predict 5 numbers. Maybe he should have said 4, to make it more convincing for the Friday show.

PRE-DICT
The PRE bit means before
The DICT bit means to say
So he definately failed, as he didnt PRE dict anything at all, he told everyone the numbers AFTER they came out, not before.
So it really doesnt matter if he claimed 4 or 5 or 6, as he succesfully PREdicted NONE of them.

I'm hoping Derren will redeam himself, and I'll hold my opinion until the end of the series. As for Blaine, lost all respect for him after those twaty stunts - but his slight of hand stuff is awesome. I love manipulation magic (as anyone who's witnessed my lame pub tricks will testify) but Blaine is just fantastic at it.

The first parts were intresting with the volenters showing how he created the fear (ie-suspense) with out the fear object being present.
But of the 2 explanations hes given
Creative writing or he fixed the machine?
1. Creatives a load of bollocks, hes built his carrer on dismissing psychic and magic, only ever reliying on maths and psychology. So why bother to suggest this as an explanation, as He always says psychic is bollocks
Hes even proved this in the last 5 mins of the program.
After the group chose the final wednesday 6 balls, there was absoultly no reason why he couldnt show them the numbers before the draw.
As the numbers had been chosen, the creative "clarity" bit he banged on about was no lon ger needed, so revealing the numbers makes no difference
And as it was litterally a few mins before the draw there is no way any of the group could have gone and bought a ticket, if thats what he was worried about.
Its clear the numbers the group chose were not the numbers he had in the plastic sleve. So maybe just maybe he did fix the machine.
2. Fixing the lotto, which for me is the only plausable of his two given explanations. But again Im pretty sure he would not take this risk to do this, as the conscquenses of "fixing" the lottery would be too high if he ever got caught?
Which leaves trick camara work, and this I can not simply believe hed stoop to using? Surley.
So im going with the theory he fixed the machine.
Anyway lets see the other 4 programs and see how it pans out. But At the moment I have lost a lot of the respect I had for his work.
What ever happens tho, he sure has got Channels4's viewing rating up

I can't see what the point of Friday nights "explanation" show was unless he's setting us up for something even bigger at the end of the series however as Lee said I'm still interested in watching the three remaining shows.
I have heard that in one of these remaining stunts he will be to incapacitate viewers, making them feel that they are stuck to their sofa, using a subliminal video. Although it has been claimed to be unsafe and is due to be looked into and possibly removed from the final broadcasting.
