Default piston rings...total seal or normal??

hi there, am about to order my new rods and pistons and was wondering what the difference between normal piston rings are and Total Seal gapless rings are?

any advantages or disadvantages of both? Pistons are JE and rods are Pauter steel items...for a 2L 16v Zetec

go for the total seal as it has no ring gap once in the bore so its better. as for the normal rings thers a gap its still good but ther better 1 is the total seal

I'm sure I asked this question a couple of years ago - might have been on the RSOC BB before PassionFord existed.
Do a search under Lowman Jones - may turn up results ?
