bit late but even finding the website is hard and a quick google brings up old shit and vids and even expired old links.

heres the website adress...

http://www.promrally.wallaseymc.com/

heres the entry, got a escort wrc and some nice escort cosworths a metro 6r4,evo's and subarus and mk2 escorts, its great if it pisses down as the cars get sliding around,

http://www.promrally.wallaseymc.com/...09_Entries.pdf

loads of parking and easy to find off j1 of the m53 motorway

http://www.promrally.wallaseymc.com/...A_to_Z_map.pdf

we usually park up before the end of bayswater rd,turn into the housing estate on the right and its free but shhhh i never told you you could save a 5'er doing that

saw the m3,seems fast but all over the place and especially at the hairpin, mind you it was miles better than some of the cars i saw, they just don't like corners and either look like they are gonna roll the tyre off the rim or struggled at cornering.
some of the subarus honestly looked slower than what i see driving past shopping centres or the pub on a friday night.
and that fookin white evo 8 was a disgrace, whats the point of driving like miss daisy.

the wrc escort looked like it was going ok though which was nice from where i was standing. The weather was good aswell which made a change.

Spoke to Mark in the WRC Escos quite a bit during the day

He was struggling for grip early on until he changed tyre compound

so which car did you lot like the best ??????????????

i liked the bastos rep wrc escort for obvious reasons and the lindop brothers mazda mk2 escort, the darrians go well on the tar and lyndon bartons escort goes like i remember a proper mk2 escort goes like.

i thought the orange and black impreza was trying and the best of them all,the white fiesta st was trying hard too.
my mate malcolm in the heat for hire sunbeam was going well this year too.

i hate to say this but the very first time i went to new brighton was in 1989 and john price won in the reno 21 turbo(been on ebay for sale recently too!!),i remember it was absolutley freezing and the wind was howling and the sea comming over the wall,it never rained but i always remember to bring appropriate clothing for new brighton after that because i never took a coat and freezed my bits off.

anyway back to me reminiscing,it doesn't seem like 20 fookin years have gone by,my uncle and his next door neighbour were doing the rally in a mk1 escort,i loved it and have some great memories of going since then.

20 fookin years

mind you i was a nipper back in 1989

Has anyone got some pics of him in action?

Saph had a hole the size of a 50p in the rear diff. Unlucky really!

I was around the Cheerios subaru for most of the day. Quite exciting watching people get problems sorted, just wanted to dive straight in!

The talbot and corsa over in the Tony camp were great. Dayle's done well with that Talbot!

that cheerios subaru doesn't handle as good as his old puma imo, that car was trying to roll the tyre of the rim everytime it went round the hairpin, it didn't look set up right imo

After problems on the first stage alt belt came off and took off the dry sump belt with it they were only out playing for the rest of the day. I played about with the camber on the Sunbeam getting it to a point where the driver came back smiling lol

Playing was going well until the bolt snapped holding the belt tensioner pully which ripped off the cambelt and probably smashed the valves

3 belts off in 1 day on an engine they had paid to have done Thats rallying

The wide ass Corsa suffered low oil pressure and started knocking after stage 5 or 6 so it was pub time by then

Dan next time bring some overalls and dive in Any help is welcomed

Im sure both will be out at 3 sisters in Wigan next month parts permitting lol Then we do it all again

Yea i knew that seen it quite a few places, last time i think was on weeton army barracks.

Shame there wasn't a few more 6R4's there like there used to be, John Stone is normally one of the top competitors out there.

Some good photo's there Adam, Not a great day down the prom for me but a good laugh all the same, Spent the day crawling around under the (Im not fat im just big boned) corsa only for the engine to cry no more after stage 6. 4 years to build and 5 hrs to break but as Tony say's that's rallying for you.
As most of you know on here Tony has his escort sat not doing anything and he keeps telling me he has retired but a few of us think that it is about time the escort seen the light of day again and started to do what it does so well, So what do you say then Tony is it nearly time to come out and play again.
Oh and why i remember Sticker Paul that is one very cute baby you have got there and going rallying at 11 weeks old start her early mate.

some great pics, ive not been doen to NB for ages, even the times i have been and watched its never an event i want to do - accellerate in a staight line - brake (90deg or 180deg ) turn - accell - brake turn - just a very boring event

good to get the locals close to some rallying though.

surprised to see Ian on the list must have needed to give the metro a blast for something big coming up. -not sure if that is the one with the Jag V6 in or not.
