Was wondering what gearbox you are running in your Rs turbos. My second box is on its way out now. What sort of upgades are about and what sort of money?

ive looked at cts stage 2 gearbox which includes quaife atb diff.which is bout 1200 sheets.im going to look into the mtx75 gearbox with added quaife synchromesh internals.

I am sure you car ment to be running more than that, the previous owner had it at 240bhp
Is it still running a 2.1 zetec turbo?

I've just fitted mine with a cts stage 2 box (inc.quaife diff, bigger bearings). All good so far.

Rolling road sheet says 190.but in the next few weeks will be putting cam kit. injectors. and ahmed chip. and a Gearbox

not really m8,the quaife atb diff that comes with it is 550 sheets on its own,will transform the car.mtx75 with quaife internals is bout 3.5k+

Going to fit standard lsd for now. And save like mad for a stage 2 + CTS

hi mate i know a very good gearbox engineer in nottingham called scotts , he built me a big bearing ib5 gearset into my box. this was a full genuine ford focus gearset with brand new main shaft and gogs etc fitted in the case all for Ł350 inc vat , so you could buy a quaife diff and get him to fit it , also around the corner from my house in derby theres the company called the metal improvement company that super polishers and shot peens which is the same company that does all cts gearboxes and would not cost as much as the cts stage 2 + box but you would have a fully brand new gearbox for less than a grand

p.s i was getting charged Ł350 each time i stripped the main shaft teeth to take the box out and replace it with secondhand machined collar main shaft which is very common , so a full gearkit is a bargain really.

I had a stg2 bernie box in my FRST and broke it, so went for the stg2+.
Lotta money but worth it to stop worrying every time you boot it!
