Default engine splutter when foot on the throttle!!

when i last took the mondy out i found that when i put my foot on the throttle as if to labour the engine a little it would cut out or splutter, then fire straight back up once off the throttle.

could this be a lamba sensor?

oh yea it's a 1.8 zetec mondy mk2 98

no i haven't it's hardly on the road atm cos of the clutch being gone, i suppose i could take it round the block to check, would i need to disconnect it then see if it's still the same?

edit: i'm not used to all this modern fuel injection deffo need a lesson in the workings give me a carb and i'll strip it and set it all up no prob's give me fuel injection and i'll sit and pull things not having a clue what to do

just disconnect the 3 pin connection then run it round the block, if it's still the same you can rule that out.

firstly check your plugs and HT leads. these suffer with tracking/ arking leads.
then check the coilpack.

it honestly doesn't feel like leads or the like, it's specifically when i labour the engine slightly with the throttle, other than that it doesn't miss a beat and the idle is really smooth so i'd be surprised if it was but all worth a check

can't help it it's my big feet and lack of talent thats getting in the way i'm not used to a big manly car i'm used to my relliant robin, i've gone up in the world, it's got a metal body and i've even got an extra wheel now

i'v tried a choffeur (sp) to cure my lack of talent, but the misses gets angry after being tied to the seat for a day or too
