Default whats a boiler worth scrap

suppose a std boiler and the pipes thats fitted downstairs, were having a new one upstairs and we were asked to sign a release for the old one, when my mrs said we'll weigh it in the estimator says its only worth 4 quid and the lads won't be happy

so me mrs says we'll give the lads 4 quid then and keep them happy
the fella starts protesting which makes me think its worth more than 4 quid.

i hate it when people bullshit me in my own gaff

copper hot water tanks worth about £20 and the price is rising

boiler as in the normal boiler, i know the copper tank is worth somthing but dunno how much,i just start getting worried when somebody says its worth nowt really but they won't be happy unless they can take it away.
its nearly 10 years old the old boiler and probably could be great for spares since its only the pump thats gone.

reminds me of the guys who came to chop our tree down:

"£130 to cut it down, another £130 to remove the remains"

"not to worry chaps, i've got a van and i'll dispose of the lot"

"um, then we'll have to charge £160 to cut it down"

"then you don't need to bother turning up then "

they turned up to cut it down for £130 or thereabouts and were done in less than 20 minutes

trust me, we burnt loads of it, but only to annoy the neighbours

we were thinking of keeping osme of the trunk sections to make a bench and stuff, but it was simply easier to get the guys who came to pul lthe chimneys out to skip the lot

Its probably worth £10 if its a cast iron, if theres lots of copper then clean that of and weigh that in seperately.
