When i passed my test in 89 the saffs were still new and the price of a house in some areas

As for insuring it after all the stolen ones even the insurance companys did'nt what to take that chance hence why they crashed in value

Then with electronic immob and decent alarms they finally became insurable at a cost

So all you young lads who now have them respect and treat them well!!! cos your very lucky

19 when I had my first one. 29 now, and had one ever since I got my first one, currently got an Escort that should be around 440Bhp and a 450+ rear drive saff ..

I bought my first one just after I passed my aircraft engineering training and got a nice big payrise from the RAF .. Got my first 3 points about 3 months later ... Top tip, don't speed past an unmarked police car then go sideways round an island in front of said police car...

As Markk says, I'm older but prob not much wiser

He did pay Ł5500 for insurance at 18 for his Cossie though. Had a few cars before that too.

i really dont understand i know you must have had these cossies but i mean iv tryed some quotes and im getting 4grand one on a saph cossie standard and i have almost 2 years ncb and am almost 21 even a rs turbo is like 3 grand or a xr2i i mean wtf i have a 2 liter at the moment with loads of mods on and thats cheaper than a 1.6 fiesta
i would be dead if i had a cossie at 17 , 18 or 19 sod that it would be good tho

TBH i SO wish i'd just got a fukk off loan or whatever when i was 19 or 20. and got a really nice Esc cos.

If kept properly it'd still be worth the same money now, the loan would be been paid off a long long time ago, and would still have a fookin wicked car.

Your biggest problem is livingin Essex, it makes a huge difference on the insurance depending on the postcode risk, and anywhere near London is going to be much higher risk than places out in the sticks!

thats the problem mate is sucks i will have a real 1 one day ill just stick with my rep one day it will be a nice fast car but im happy at the moment it only does 120 mph
