GRS + Fans
Got my GRS fitted on my S2 RST but I think its running a bit hot (when its about -10 so you can imagine what it will be like this summer)!! and I haven't even driven it in anger yet!
I have an the cooler fitted directly in front of the rad and a 10inch Kenlowe mounted on the front of that. The fan seems to cut in very early at low speed. Once it has cut in it can hold the temp level but not drop it to allow the fans to stop.
What can I do to add more cooling? (I don't really want two Kenlowes on the front). Will a small sucking fan on the rear of the rad fit and work?
What about these really small fans I've seen on some peoples cars (Like electrical equipment fans, I think Karl uses them on his coolers). Any one got any info on them? Do they work?
HELP

Not sure (not got a water temperature gauge). The oil sits about 75 degrees the water temp gauge sits in the middle and goes up to between N and O (in normal).
Its the fact the fan won't bring the temp back down (or takes ages to do so) that I'm worried about

I had this probem, i now have two 10" Kenlowe fans directly on the rad and moved the inter cooler right to the front.
Fans cut in and out really well, but i could do with a lower temp fan switch.

Are the fans running in the right direction?
Are they close to your radiator (almost touching)
can the air escape round the outside of your radiator after it has been thrugh the cooler ( remember the air will have far less force after going through the intercooler and you wil need to do whatever you can to encourage it to go through the rad)
worth checking out- in this weather you should be struggling to get the temps up

I have 1 10inch blower on the front (And it is running the right way)
Has anyone fitted a sucking fan on the back (to the right hand side of the rad as you look in the bay)? Will it physically fit (when the engine rocks on its mounts)?
I think a big problem is the air is blown through the cooler but then just disperses when it hits the rad instead of going through it.
Has anyone got any info on the small fans Karl uses??

as for the fans on the inside of the engine bay ..... wouldnt that drag hot air from the engine bay ????

or....
remove thermostat ..
get electric drill and a 3mm drill bit ...
drill 2 x 3mm holes on the thermostat part that opens (oposit each other)...
clean up and refit...
i had no water temp isues even on the track running 22 psi boost... but i was using twin fans aswell
