Also a full cadge built and the car strengthend to the max. With a Full Restore? such as, Ground up.

If this guy is so good and works in a garage why is he taking his cossie to GT Motorsport in stoke and having work done on it and asking for advice on cams!!! This is true as i was there picking up my car and i know mark tweed the owner of GT !!!!!!

Maybe you just dont understand the fact of life and that some people rather make a profit than a loss while fixing his car he wont be making any money, and wasting time, cuz i know i would. if i was building cars like he has i wouldnt be even spending time on mine so clearly he just wants his done?

The car he's done looks amazing but there's a huge gap between the type of person that will admire it and the type of person that will write out a cheque to have it done.

There are people out there that will spend lots on a car but they are few and far between. Concours cars are not easy to sell as the price puts it out of most people's reach and they're not able to buy a car to just store up, at this moment in time more peolpe are trying to move their cars on rather than spend £1000's on them, plus they also like to do some of the work themselves so they can take some credit for how the car looks.

Location is hugely important, people will travel a bit for something they want but if your in a place with low employment etc then the footfall through the door will only be punters wanting a second hand tyre for their Fiesta to 'get it through the MOT'.

Can money be made doing this? With the time needed and the overheads I think its a big ask regardless of the talent he has. Why not start small without much investment and test the market, if it flys then scale things up in a year or so. He just needs to not let his heart rule is head and be carefull or the Cossie may end up having to be sold to pay the overdaft which would never do.

Yeh maybe but why ask advice on something so simple as cams and it was a basic question. and why if he is top bloke at a garage why give another garage buisness!!!

Also he would have to compete with the likes of GT Motorsport ( well known tuner in stoke), Tony at Tubosystems and Sue at Collins who Mark Tweed knows very well!!!

Tubosystems Fucked up a old mate of mines Cosworth, Didnt balence the turbo correct and it spit the turbo fans back into the head, fucked the vaulve and then that fucked up the pistons, no offer or repair. was a fair while ago.

if he has the moneys todo so, to take it else where, then thats fine, why the hell not.

The trouble is there are already 2 good RS's tuners in the Stoke area and these have a good reputation. The body work thing is something i would look more into, rather than trying to compete with established Tuners of the cars.

This is what i am trying to say, go down the body work route and leave the building of engines/mapping/tuning to people who have the reputation and have been doing it for years. The thing its not easy to just make money from RS's anymore, you need to look at other performance and classic cars and get into those.

i totaly agree. there is alot of engine builders out there with alot of respect from members on here, and in the country/world.

i would say that if he was to target just Fords such as the cosworth and rs's then its not really going tobe much profit or even get yourself even at the end of the year, so like you say, if it was more targeted at the ones such as like you say, classic cars, and also cosworths then that would widen your scales of money making. profit building and good marketing.

you dont know me and dont know what i do or what i can do mark has worked on my car yes as for advice on cams mark gave me some pistons and i was asking him how far they were machined as to what cams i could use as stated i run a busy garage and am not allowed to work on my car there and mark is the only perdson i would let work on it

he charged me 2 hours labour to drop my fuel tank,him to order the wrong(saph) fuel gauge sender unit and put fuel tank back in cause wrong one and couldny sorce a 3-door one £110 i paid,then 2 weeks later i sourced a 3-door one and garage fitting it said there was no chance the tank had ever been out the car in last 15 years,all hoses were perished,hose clips were so rusty the screwdrivers just snapped the clips off
