The sound on my internet has gone off somehow and I dont know why, I cant listen to anything online at all, youtube, music, nothing. deffo not the computer or the sound system as my normal media player is working fine, any suggestions?

 

1.Open Control Panel.
2.Double Click to open Sounds and Audio Devices.
3.Click Sounds tab.
4.Scroll down to Windows Explorer, which is present under the Programs events.
5.Select Complete Navigation and Start Navigation.

After saving the file, go to START > RUN > and type 'regedit' and then click OK
In the registry, select FILE > IMPORT and select the "missing.reg" file from your desktop
You should get a confirmation that it was imported successfully.

Are you using Windows Vista or the Windows 7 RC1? If so, you might have muted your browser, as Vista and 7 have a mixer that has volume levels for individual applications.

If you're on XP, I might be stumped, unless you've actually disabled playing sound in the browser's preferences somehow.

Internet Explorer has options under Tools -> Internet Options -> Multimedia for enabling/disabling sound and video in the browser.
