they have to do alot of ringing about and decision making before going to the members otherwise they get blasted with questions and have no answers, therefore looking like they aint got a clue, which in turn makes people say the rsoc are shit and aint got a clue.
its not their fault some one cant keep their mouth shut till they have the answers
im gutted as i cant go now,no cover at work for me. both my boss and manager are away then.not the rsoc fault but im now out.was looking forward to it as well especailly as ive had a shitty year so far with the car
oh well, hope the ones who do go enjoy it. and lets move it to brands next year

What an absolute piss take. An absolute load of bollocks on Donningtons behalf - especially as there will be hundreds of people who have made plans, arranged annual leave from work etc etc for the 1st re-arranged date, and now they shift it again. Tossers
I best get on the phone and grovel to our rostering department to get the day off

Change the venue ,not the date!!!
Surely, the best thing would have been to move the venue to the nearest available and take some legal advice on compensation from Donnington.
This date clashes with the Dutch Ford event and people would have made arrangements for this weekend months ago,as we did.
Not the clubs fault, but Donnington should be made to pay for there incompetence and arrogance in this matter.
A lot of people will lose out financially and which ever way you look at it,the show will be disaster.
Has anyone looked into the possibility of a new venue as close to Donnington as possible??

When you think about how much money the F1 will bring to Donington it's not hard to see why they've done it. It's out of order for sure, but money talks!
As for the other venue requests - Surely that would make even more aggro for the RSOC, and they've already got their work cut out changing the dates as it is!!

PassionFord Post Whore!!
Donnington is a money machine , i remember being told a few years ago that the RSOC national day was its 3rd bigest event on its callender.
I also remember everyone being disgusted at the change of venue to Rockingham, and all screaming "lets go back to Donnington". That was loyalty to a great race venue, but they have shown very little respect back to the RSOC.
Well i hope the RSOC change the event for next year and give the sorry twats at donno a wide birth. Put the money elsewhere (if the club survives this) and make a fresh start .

Surely the RSOC would have had a contract with Donnington for this booking. If so does the contract allow Donnington to cancel a booking with very little notice and no compensation?
If so - why would you agree to such terms? Its just leaving the door open for something like this. If not - then surely they are in breach of contract and could be sued.
Why is it that the RSOC always seem to lunge from disaster to disaster? They don't seem to have a great deal of luck.

Imo....
Donny looked at the bookings....
13th Sept - FREE
20th Sept - FREE
27th Sept - RSOC booked in....
Lets bump RSOC to 13th that way we get 2 extra weeks to get track etc ready for next year....
Piss take imo but as Local Group Chairman it's caused me worry today, but fortunatly no worries now and looking forward to the day!!!!
Good luck to the RSOC I say and I hope everything gets sorted out for the day!!!! Back to Rockingham next year then???? Only spolier b4 was the weather for me

anyone suggesting going back to rockingham has got to be on a different planet, the place is a complete shit hole, looks desolate as fuck and no end of ppl refused to go there before due to the rubbish track so why jump out of the frying pan and in to a even hotter fire. i do think the venue needs moving next year as donington obviously have little to no respect for the man on the street paying the bills but where you move it to i have no idea.

Why point the finger of blame at the RSOC it's not their fault in any way??? ALL venues will have small print for just such an eventuality, and you can't expect the RSOC to bin off any venues 'just in case they sign a multi-million pound deal with Bernie and his chums'.

I still find it difficult to believe that a contract can be terminated with so little notice after one party (ie. RSOC) would have made various financial commitments etc. A cancellation like that could wipe a club out financially if they cannot recover any money.
I was a paid up member of the RSOC for nine years, so please don't lecture me about support.

well, we have a club stand booked for the show and here we are 2 days after the 'online announcement' and we have yet to be contacted about it!
surely the visiting car club organisers should have been informed by now ?

i only know because a friend told me, i'm not a regular on this or the rsoc forum, i'm sure there are lots of things to sort out, but in either this thread or the one on the rs board it says that phone calls to members have been made, but as far as i know none have been made to anyone outside the rs umbrella.

everyone who has booked via the office has now been contacted
i have tonight contacted all local groups to make sure they got the e mail sent to them yesterday
there are 4 or 5 groups i cant get in touch with but will
the people who look after visiting car clubs are going to get in touch asap, if you are concerned give them a call, most people i speak to know already
there should be a mailshot going out to every rsoc member
