RSOC National Day 2009 - New date!
#41
Are all the traders still going to be there?????
Why do people do these things donnington have had enough bad press this year and they don't help themselves by doing things like this.
What about a different venue so donington dont profit after a trick like this?

The landlady at the hotel had phoned Darren as we are all booked in there and she had obviously heard locally that events were being cancelled.
Who's to say if this was before/after the committee had been informed. Darren got this info from a 3rd party not connected to either Dono or the RSOC.
Dono have shown the RSOC absolutely no respect here and the RSOC committe don't deserve any slating off of anyone. Hopefully some kind of financial compensation can be arranged.
Time to just get our heads down and get on with it. I'm sure it will still be a good day.

No way should donno still get their fee for this.
And if the RSOC do get a reduction in fees I hope they pass it on to the members. Those with hotel reservations first.
Like that's ever going to happen

Good luck to the rsoc with re-organizing the event but think they should find a new venue for next year and tell donnington 3wks before.
We'll be there weather permitting.

Lot of self self posts going off on the forums! this is a car club, members need to pull together as something like this could criple it! I feel for anyone whos lost money, especially like 300 quid on hotels etc, but whats done is done, the RSOC ARENT at fault and by the looks of it are doing their best to rearrange the date and organise it all in THIER OWN TIME for your day!

I hope everyeone who still attends has a good day and doesn't let it spoil the fun.
Most of FFOC won't be attending as it's our National Day in Milton Keynes on 13th September.
Hope we can get a refund for the tickets we've already paid for.
We were all booked into the East Midlands Premier Inn so will still be able to cancel that.
Good luck RSOC, I wouldn't wish this on anyone

thats what i would rather happen, same date at another venue within an hours drive. Don't the RSOC have any legal standing on this?

As said not RSOC fault, good on em for trying to sort it for 'new date' just a shame a lot of people that were looking forward to it aint going now
Hope donny man up and sort something with the fees as RSOC have enough money problems as it is if past rallye news is anything to go by
If they do pull it off surely it could be a good advert for the club pulling after the shit way donny hav treated them, maybe just maybe it could attract new members if the club pulls together and shows it can be strong in such situations not just bitch at each other

Completely not the fault of the main RSOC but a shitter non the less. Bollox to those that have booked hotels and such like but life does shit on us at times, its how you deal with it that counts. I'll still be there with a good few who had planned around the other date. I would say that Donno should be reviewed as the National Day venue next year, especially as they will want a fortune next year, with it being an 'F1' track.
