Aye the plasma cutter using a template on the other side was smart, they had alot of machine men in there lol

That place is/was just along the road from where i live, excellent to see the engineers doing it the old school way but with next to no PPE at all

Our old welding shop had one of them, if the lead wasn't heavy on the drawing then it would wander off

and not a single high vis or safety goggles/gloves in sight.how did they ever make it out alive?

Its strange seeing activities like this going on but with nobody wearing any PPE apart from a boiler suit!

maybe they wore steel lined flat cloth caps instead of hard hats.

lol, great pictures showing the best of brittish engineering,

love the lack of goggles and ppe, heath and safety executive would have a field day these days,

thats when men were men.
