Default should you use copper grease on an exhaust type gasket

still not sorted this twatting pug 306 downpipe to manifold bollox...anyway someone said to me to put some grease on the metal gasket ring cos its a flexi movable join...

so should i use copper grease on it..
its one of these type joins

the gasket is there to take the movement and seal it, so grease would surely reduce it effectiveness... plus it would burn out, possibly setting on fire with the heat...

No - why would you need grease?

Do you want it to move?

plus copper will damage the cat

yes. i grease them helps flex and stops sqeeks. dont go daft with it tho...
