Default Why is my 4x4 such a pain in the a$$???

I HATE this car right now!!!!!!!!
It can never be 100% ok, there's always something wrong with it, this doesn't work, that doesn't work, this makes a noise, blah blah blah.......

I've spent a f**king fortune on it and it still isn't right!

Just aswell after spending a bit on your old car it is now upto scratch for me

Also, co-incidentally, it is finished too bar a set of big brakes, gave the paint a mopping earlier to get rid of some of the baked in dirt - looking good now

Still not got the logbook yet and DVLA say they never received the bit you sent off?

hate to say this but this is why every single time i have ever owned a cozzie i alway have somthing else to use as a daily runner.
also its surprising how many people skimp and buy a cheep car and then start spending big when things go wrong from hard use and loads of miles.
much better to buy one with loads of evidence of last owners spending big dough so you don't have to.

I've had a letter saying I no longer own the BM but no logbook for the Cossie.

I've sent a V62 off with the green slip, so you may or may not get a letter from the DVLA about an application for a logbook

Personally I find the electrical gremlins the most persistent Cossie faults, but then they're all 20 years old now.

That's the thing though, i have a 2WD and a 4x4, and a Japanese daily runner (thank christ) otherwise i would go mad. I've had the 4x4 for almost 9 years and it was an expensive car when i bought it with loads of history, and I've spent an absolute tonne on it in the last year.
That's why I'm so pissed off with it, in the last 3k miles it's had;
Brand new gearbox from Ford
New engine
New TCA's
New TRE's
New bushes
New wheel bearings
New driveshafts (front)
Complete new fuel system from tank/pump/full areoquip to rail
New bootlid
New bumper
Respray
New wheels
new radiator
New Rs500 cooler

That's why I'm pissed off!

So now it's onto replacing the propshaft and if that isn't it then it'll be the diffs and hubs that are next.
Be bad if i sold it because i don't bother keeping reciepts much anymore so you just have to take my word for it, but i don't really plan to sell it anyway.

and the one thing that should really be changed are the looms they are also 20 years old and don't all work the same as they should along with the connectors.

If its a vibration problem i wouldnt mind betting that whoever replaced the wheel bearings has either not got them square or damaged the hub slightly

No it was like that before they were changed.
I have a jap car as a daily runner, but I'm not really big on evo's and scoobys etc.. TBH.

I changed the prop last night and it's STILL doing it, have absolutely no clue what to do next, now i'm back to buying bits to replace perfectly good bits just for the sake of it.
i think i'll replace the front diff next.
