register the domain, maybe 5-10 quid, and as long as there is not a lot of content you want on there, host the files yourself.
The majority of broadband users get free webspace, I've got 25MB or 50MB can remember which, but if its an "information only" webspace, your laughing.
Use frontpage (part of the office suite) if you havent done one before, then when your a bit more able, move onto the likes of dreamweaver etc.

If you wanta shop on there/checkout, then I'll let one of the other guys on here point you in the right direction.

If you want someone to pay you to do a job, don't give them a step-by-step guide to help them do it themselves!

Out of interest, whats the difference in cost between a normal info site and one with a checkout/online sales section??

Cheers,

I'm going to comment, but I have NO idea. It would be interesting to find out.

Web design is something I thought of getting into...
