I bet you someone slapped a load of 'No More Nails' all down the sides before they pushed it in.

If you have skinny hands, you can even reach up behind the dash from the passenger footwell and push on the back of the unit, whilst the coat hangers are stuck in, your gay neighbour should have skinny feminine arms to reach up behind there no problem
Are the coat hangers tight to push in? Maybe they're too thick and wedging everything up

sometimes if the pins get pushed in too far the spring bracket stop gets bent and then they won't release properly then there a right chew on to get out.

He'll be well used to reach arounds in tight places. It'll be out in no time.

I did push the stereo out of my old Escort that way, but that was an aftermarket headunit, and not sure the standard double din would just push out because of the way it's retained, but it's worth a try!

It won't push out without the coat hangers in there, but thats what I meant, stick the coat hangers in, and then push/wiggle on the back of the unit.
I wanna go watch a film now, but I don't think I'll be able to concentrate properly knowing that thing is still stuck in that dash.
BTW, you haven't got a service book in the glove box with the key code written in it have you?!

They'd have to be inserted correctly though, so no good if they're too tight a squeeze etc. But assuming they're ok, yeah
