this month im fitting a front mounted intercooler on my rs, while im doing it i want to change the turbo.

i know you can but turbo kits off puma speed and other companys but i find these to expensive.

my friend offered me his gt28 off his 200sx, but i understand these are only good for 300bhp???

i was considering the t3 turbo, however i am still running the standard manifold.

also does anybody know if the ecu are remapable?

not much point upgrading the turbo if your using the standard manifold, you would be better changing the manifold & running a standard turbo.

johnfrs turbo when you get a manifold matt well tell you mine made 338bhp

Get a manifold , and a std turbo will do 300bhp , some lads on rsoc have seen 350-375bhp off hybrid turbos off john or from turbo tec's

Know its an old thread, so apologies.

I would say get a SCC GT28 rollerbearing turbo. They are the mutts IMO. Will need a boost controller for it though. Actuator alone won't see big numbers.
Carries a little lag, which is actually nice to have as you can use the torque to get yourself going and then the turbo comes on & wallop.
