could this be considered mild alcholism? (sp)
any advice?

As above, if you feel like you have to have it, rather than want to have it, thats an addiction, if you can take it or leave it, you just enjoy a few cans, but on a regular basis.

What i was going to say. if you can do 3 or 4 days without really wanting it (habit is different, but just as tempting) then you'll be ok. its not a great deal. if you slip to 5 a night cos its not having the same effect then start asking yourself questions.

i drink a few cans most night, but usually carling or fosters as its cheap lol
not really to get pissed as 4 cans of 4% lager does nothing. 5% beer does tho lol.
i drink it as i like the taste, the wife thinks im an alci etc.. but she doesnt really drink that often or that much...
i did buy some bottles of cobra alcohol free beer, and she thought it was normal lager but when she seen the bottles she was like, oh, so why did you buy that. i sai i like the taste, and its not to get pissed. but the stuff is fuking horrid and i gave the rest away![Surprised](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/bigcry.gif)
i also drive for a living so cant get shitfaced on scrumpy every night, plus i hate having a hangover.
i dont really think its a problem if its only a few cans of lowish % beer. but if you find yourself on the duval every night, then you might have issues

Don't forget if they are standard 440ml cans then that is only 3 pints a night. A pint in the pub should 568ml.
2 cans a night of 4% lager is bang on the governments limit of whats deemed safe..... just check how many units your having a night and compare.

Anyone who is desperate to drink san miguel is desperate and must be an addict!![Pthbbbb](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/smile045.gif)
Seriously tho cut down, it is not good for your body at all, quick track to a heart attack especially with them pork scratchings every night.

If your on the 440ml cans then your consuming around 9 units everynight, deemed safe is 4 units for a male (but 6 units is safe, apparently this was going to be the figure but was turned down to 4 as 6 can get many very tipsy! ) As for the 9 units you are under the quota for getting withdrawal symptoms from stopping, 10 - 12 units daily is where it starts to get dodgy and more than that you got serious issues lol.

People don't understand its not the amount you drink that makes you an alcoholic, you don't have to be jobless and completely wrecked down the park on 2 bottles of vody everyday, its if you can't go a day without consuming alcohol, your alcohol dependant.
Then a lot of people 'wind down' with a glass of wine or pint of beer as matter of course everyday after work, I think moderation is key as with everything.
Four can is too much according to recommend 'safe' amount of units

What a load of toss
You don't have to feel that you "need" it or "crave" it to be an alcoholic
Friend of mine was an alcoholic for several years, and he never once felt like it "needed" or "craved" anything. He just preferred to be pissed than sober. Simple as that. Alcohol loosens inhibitions, and lubricates self-consciousness. Some people prefer to be even just slightly inebriated to feel more comfortable, and some prefer to spend their time in a full blown stupor. Nothing to do with needing - and all to do with wanting!
I'm addicted to smoking - but I don't ever feel that I NEED a nicotine hit. But I WANT to smoke. Big difference.
