your phone is NOT a part of your contract, it even says that somewhere in the paperwork from them, so you will NOT have to send it back, definately not.

Benni can confirm this im sure, as he has cancelled.

Confirmed. I now own an N97 and I am going to sell my C905 once I've paid for the speaker to be fixed. This N97 is great and costing me the same ammount. I am however paying insurance this time around, which I'm fine with.

Thread of the year for me this!

The text is partly irrelevant. Ask him will the changes effect you, which they will, and then you have the confirmation you need. All they are doing is fobbing you off.

you will be seriously pissed off with the n97 after about 3 hours when you have to reset it every 5 mins and will probably want to stamp on it bud..

my apologes for my prior fuck up, after may09.. what was i thinking? anything taken out before 31st may 2009 comes under this, business and personal tariffs alike and they cant ask for the phone back

I hope not! It's insured, so if I don't like it I'll probably get mugged. Why the resetting?

Call again. Read the link again, as Benni said: they can confirm over the phone that the changes will affecvt you, there fore you have received confirmation via voice. The text doesn't come into it then.
Just one more call may be all you need. It also said some operators will fob you off: if that happens just call again and speak to someone different.

i am ON this 2mo!!
I moved house in oct last year, when phoning orange and changing address i asked what / how much signal i would get, they replyed "signal is very good at this address...blah....blah....". basically,i get...... jack shit!! so rang them back to complain and they did nothing for me after 4 calls and trying to persue them i just gave up!
my contract is up soon and already been offerd an upragde with a free lap top, and glad i never went for it now.
overall i'm kinda ok with orange, arart from not offering me anything when phoning about signal isuues at home customer services have been ok and signal at work and the unit are very good.
and signal isues at home dont just affect me, all networks have poor/ no signal here.

cheers chip!!

I am now Orange free too.

I called said "I received the increase in price text" the guy cut me short, sighed and said "so you would like to cancel?"

I only took the contract out in Feb and received a free PS3 with it, result!
Back to T Mobile where I get signal I think.

Well done Chip.

I rung customer services when I got home, I'd very much like a Nokia N97 but I'm not due an upgrade until February, the guy who I spoke to told me that all he could offer me was extra mins or if I wanted, cancel my contract with immediate effect..

Big thanks to Chip for this info though, I'll try again tomorrow and if I don't get a new handset I will cancel..

Big-Dan..

the software on the phone cant handle the ammount of internal momory on it.. it stalls and crashes for fun. voda and orange released it but orange promptly stopped selling them (must have started again now) but o2 still say its not good enough and we have half a million quid of them in our warehouse on o2..

well just got off the phone to orange, was disconnected once (bloody signal dropped) then called back andspoke to the rudest person known to man who basically said your ringing up cos you have read this on a lot of forums, i proceeded to say thats beside the point your changing the terms to what i have signed for i am therefore unhappy with this.

the reply i got was we have had a meeting as you have just upgraded and not gone over your miniutes your are not eligable to disconnect or recieve any form of good will, even though the first person i got cut off from offered £10 one off good will.... then she said you are paying £20 per month, no im paying £25, next min i talking to a very puzzled person in billing with no idea why i have been transfered and informs me i am correct so asks why i contacted orange if i was being charged the right amount, so tell him to do with the txt and politely tell him that i do not agree with the extra charges half way through a contract but am happy with orange so wished to know if they were prepaired to do a good will gesture.

Got through to a very helpful woman called sue who straight away offered £5 off per month and also double mins before i said anything, as i am only paying £25 at min i didnt want to be cheeky and agreed and thanked her very much she did say that that was the max anyone would have been done after as i asked for the first persons name but she hadnt logged the call as she didnt give her name before being rude and transfering me. She also said that they just put the number in a form on the computer and it gives the date the txt was sent, if you are eligable to disconenct and also what they can do as a good will so must be inundated with the calls! lol

Just goes to show there are some rude people working for orange but also some very nice helpful people, so if you dont get a nice one to start with persist and get transfered to a diff dept if needs be!
